What Are Your Three Words?
When forming Griffin Recruitment Group I faced the challenge of defining who we are. Someone suggested I come up with three words that describe how I do business.
Instead I chose to ask my long time clients; some that have known me for 20 years. I asked each for three words they would use to describe me as an advisor and service provider.
Most had a hard time limiting themselves to three words so the list was a mess. When we sorted it all out, we found three words more than any others. They were used the most; plus some combination of them appeared on everyone’s list.
I could not have have done a better job picking them myself. Thank you.
Integrity
Did you ever hear an engineer describe the integrity of a bridge? How about Shakespeare? Listen closer and you will see that they have much in common. Integrity is about being true and complete. Being who or what you claim to be in all situations and at all times.
I’m nowhere near perfect, and try as we might, our firm is not perfect either. What we do have, and what we will always have, is a commitment to absolute integrity. Of all the compliments a client can pay me, this one meant the most.
We won’t make promises if we can’t keep them. If we make mistakes, we own up to them, then correct them. That’s a promise at the core of our business.
Insight
Let me not keep you in suspense. I’m no visionary. Trained as an operations and HR professional, I’ve spent my career in the food industry. For the past quarter century I’ve been attracting talented people for great companies. When you put the right person in a role, magic can happen.
Insight? Knowing the industry, the company, the role and the individual requires insight. Anyone can “understand” something. I understand submarines. That does not mean I could build or drive one. To have true insight you really need to “know” something. In my case, it’s the food industry and food industry professionals.
Let me put that insight to work for you.
Initiative
Each of my clients described it differently. The common theme was a dogged determination to see the project through to completion no matter what it took. Talking is fine. Planning is wonderful. Starting is exciting. It’s the ability to keep going that set the performers apart. It’s how we operate our business and it’s a trait we seek in our candidates.
If we accept a project and promise an outcome, we will deliver it. If it means working twice as hard for twice as long, then that’s what we will do.
So, that’s it. Three words that sum up Griffin Recruitment Group. Give us a call to discuss your career or recruitment needs. Be ready. I may ask you your three words.
